Hello, I’m Keith Eldred from Williamston, MI.  I am honored to be serving on the Board of Directors of the Irish Red & White Setter Association.  My wife, Corlie, and I are happy to share our home with three setters, a nine year old Irish, Teagan, a 3 ½ year old IRWS, Jamie, and our newest family member a 13 week old IRWS, Claire (ages as of 8/1/09).  Although we are relatively new to the IRWS breed, we are enthusiastic participants in a wide variety of activities.  Jamie has earned his JH, and Rally Excellent titles, is currently working on his Excellent Standard and Excellent JWW titles in Agility, and as of 8/1/09 has 9 points toward his AKC Championship.  Jamie completed his Canadian Championship in May of 2009.

I have been a member of the Capital City Canine Agility Club in Lansing, MI for 7 years and am currently Vice-President.  I have been a member of the IRWSA for nearly 5 years and a member of the IRWSCC for 5 years.    I have served as Show Chairman for numerous AKC, CPE, and UKC agility trials including the CPE Nationals in 2008. 

I am a retired middle school teacher and administrator (36 years).  I also was a member of the Representative Council of the Michigan High School Athletic Association for 26 years and served as its Vice-President for 6 years.   I’ve also been a professional auctioneer for 27 years.

I have found over the years that when I become a member of an organization I am often asked to take on leadership roles.  I am comfortable in those roles and my style is one of being open, being a good listener, a solution seeker, a consensus builder, and a good decider when the time for a decision arrives.  I come to serve the IRWSA with no hidden agenda, my only agenda is to serve the membership and the breed by leading and making decisions that serve as many as possible and protect the heritage and future of the breed.
